SSgt Private RallyPoint Member 7518694

To any that can help. I am an honorably discharged Air Force veteran with a 100% P&T rating. I am a current national guard member working on a medical discharge, but the process has been quite the event. I recently discovered that the ANG has what is known as a resignation of convenience letter that I can fill out to fast track my way out. To give further background, I am non-deployable due to my rating and essentially useless to my current unit. I was wondering if there are any resources that you all may know of that helps individuals fill out the aforementioned ROC letter? Any help would be greatly appreciated. Are there any resources, similar to a veterans advocate group, that assist with Resignation of Convenience letters? 2022-02-08T14:11:17-05:00 SSgt Private RallyPoint Member 7518694

To any that can help. It will be a long read but you might find some information in AFI 36-3209. It was updated in 2011.
https://static.e-publishing.af.mil/production/1/af_a1/publication/afi36-3209/afi36-3209.pdf

afi36-3209.pdf

Response by MSgt Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 9 at 2022 1:54 AM 2022-02-09T01:54:39-05:00 2022-02-09T01:54:39-05:00 Sgt Private RallyPoint Member 7519797

I found this link that you might check out to see if it helps your situation. If the Veterans Administration has awarded you a 100% note the following:

"Though “Permanent and Total” is often used as a single phrase, veterans can have a total disability that is temporary, or a permanent disability rated less than 100 percent. Permanent and total ratings are protected from being reduced and may entitle you or your family to additional VA benefits."

If yours is permanent, and not Temporary, there should be no question about providing the ANG with a letter, resigning your obligation and including a copy of your Veterans Administration Award...
I have also included a link which may be helpful to you...
