You can find a unit when you become an IRR Soldier, if on first enlistment. If not, you will have to re-join after you ETS. You can either apply for a direct commission after you become a Reservist, or they may have different ways. Sorry, not what I do.

There is a Reserve Component Career Counselor at your base that can assist you. You may be a candidate for the State OCS program

Jason is correct. As a former RCCC, there is one on each installation and you will be automatically scheduled to see them before ETS (about a year out). They are able to contract you into a ARNG or USAR assignment before separation. My memory fails me, but I believe it's up to 6 mos prior. They can explain your options. The ARNG has its own commissioning program and is done within the state. The USAR follows the Federal route that you are more familiar with on active duty - attending OCS. Best of luck.

Have you completed your 8 year MSO? If not, you will need to contact a Career Counselor for the USAR. If you are looking to go in the ARNG or if you have completed your MSO you will need to see a Recruiter. What state are you in? I can have a Special Missions NCO contact you.
