Are there any RallyPoint guidelines or requirements mandating that members transition from SM to V or R?

I was looking at several member profiles recently and noticed that there are a few profiles that display as SM, yet these members have been out of the military for years, some even decades. For RallyPoint ranking purposes, should members be required to transition to V or R once they leave the service, or for active duty, transition into their new paygrade/rank once their are promoted?

ENS Private RallyPoint Member roger that, good observation read/share. I am proud of my status after a long-haul of 25 years and 3 days of active federal service to my Nation. IMHO, it should go with your current status.

It depends on how they enter their status when setting up their profile. RallyPoint has a great support page at support.rallypoint.com that can help users learn more on this subject.

Thanks for posting a relevant question in a respectful way ENS Private RallyPoint Member. In my own case in 2008 I transitioned to the retired reserves after just over 34 years of military service which includes just under 19 years of active military service. Because I had not fully retired and was drawing no significant retirement benefits I elected to be a Veteran when I joined RallyPoint in March 2015. This October I will be fully retired and when I get my blue retired ID I plan to change my profile from Veteran to Retired.

Depends, on the flexability of this site, Also, is that individual subjuect to recall..If an officer retires and does not decommission he is subject to recall. Not sure on the NCO side.

ENS Private RallyPoint Member Great question and it looks like a lot of the experts gave you the answer on how to fix the issue. I don't think that administrators even at the 4-Star level work on updating that particular status. I believe that is the individual responsibilty of the member and they are on the honor system. I believe you could send a message and point that out to the RP Member and see if they will acknoweldge and change it. If I need to be corrected on my assumption of the above, I will callon SSG Carlos Madden and SSG James J. Palmer IV aka "JP4" two great RP 4-Star Gurus to chime in!

I speak often of my civilian employment. I'm still in the Army Reserve, therefore my profile shows SM. When I retire from the Army Reserve, it'll show R.
