The VA is good for routine care and are generally more aware and familiar with veteran specific problems (agent orange, camlej water). I go out into Medicare and Tricare when something major comes up...heart surgery, kidney cancer and things like that that our VA has residents working under a supervising surgeon. Nothing against residents, but I just prefer someone who has been around the block at least half the times I have.
