If they don't, then there will certainly be a library in the town closest to base. And the PXs on the bases sell books. (Ft Lawton, WA) I worked after duty hours as the librarian. I think they paid me about a dollar an hour. They even have free subscriptions for electronic books and audio books on Overdrive (if they still have it). They usually have a large stock of games, movies, TV series, books, audio books, and of course free wifi. Thrift stores provided a very good start to my personal library while I was in the Army.

Best of luck to you! Speak to a librarian. They can get you an account. They can set you up with Libby or overdrive apps for your kindle or iPad or iPhone. You then can access all the digital books, magazines, audio books on the army and Air Force libraries. I did this when I was at DCC at fort sill. It was great. I would also suggest getting a library card for your local state library as you can enter your library card info on Libby or the overdrive app and also get your entire state library ebooks, audiobooks, and magazines. This is one thin I can't understand a soldier a lot of times can't afford to do much around towns close to them!!! Things like library's and things to occupy soldiers time were not worth going to my whole 25 years of service!!! We did have woodworking shops for soldiers to go and auto places you could use if you were one. Of the lucky few who got there in time to use it or had reserved a spot!! But I don't think those are around anymore!! All the things that used to be there for soldiers to use and entertain themselves on post are not there anymore!!! There were many enlisted clubs on post !! I think most of them have closed down although I'm sure the officers club is still going strong!! Golf courses are always full of people other than the soldiers that would like to use them!! The times are always filled with people from everywhere!!!
