Since I've lived in TX, I now hunt occasionally, but more often as a social activity than serious hunting. A couple of things here are just different....mainly that Texas is mostly private property, so you either have to own or lease land to have a place to hunt, as opposed to Washington, which is something like 60% state or national forest. Also, feeding (baiting) is legal, and I've just never really gotten on board with that...if that's your thing, hey more power to you, but I'm just not going to do it.Response by SGT Richard H. made Nov 11 at 2014 9:28 PM2014-11-11T21:28:24-05:002014-11-11T21:28:24-05:00PO3 Camille Romero322947<div class="images-v2-count-1"><div class="content-picture image-v2-number-1" id="image-13235"> <div class="social_icons social-buttons-on-image">

While living in Oklahoma,a friend finally talked me into going hunting.I had avoided it because,I hunted Texas every year with a long season. Most of the hunting in Okla.is public and for a week as I remember. We got to an area called Gruber ? ,I think. All unfamiliar to me.After a couple of hundred yards ,my friend said to pick a tree .This was around 5 am.I picked a forked tree, easy to climb. After @ 30 min.I shivered and must have made a sound. This sound from about 5 feet from me said, " It is cold this morning". After nearly falling out of the tree from fright,I asked why he didn`t say something before I climbed in with him.He said no problem;you hunt that way and I`ll hunt this way.I said no thanks, and went to the truck. My one and only deer hunt in Oklahoma.Response by SGT Ronald Audas made Aug 1 at 2015 3:19 PM2015-08-01T15:19:20-04:002015-08-01T15:19:20-04:00SFC Mark Merino861989<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I try to keep 16 meters of separation between claymores to avoid the possibility of sympathetic detonation.Response by SFC Mark Merino made Aug 2 at 2015 11:40 PM2015-08-02T23:40:54-04:002015-08-02T23:40:54-04:00SA Harold Hansmann865015<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Best piece of advice I can give is 1.
