Are soldiers supposed to do PT if they have CQ/SD at 0900?

Is there a regulation for cq/sd? NCOIC is making soldiers come in for PT if they have duty. But based off my previous units and as well as other SM’s in our BN, we aren’t supposed to. Any help is greatly appreciated!

Been a long time since I pulled CQ, I honestly can't remember if I did or didn't do PT beforehand. But if you do PT at 0700 - 0800 that leaves you an hour to do personal hygiene and get were you need to be. If you live in the barracks there should be no problem fulfilling that. Just my two cents.

AR 220-45 covers duty rosters. Not a regulation, TC 3-22.6 Guard Duty covers Staff Duty and CQ.

There is nothing in there about PT, that is up to the command in how they execute the hybrid guard detail.

New unit. New standards/SOPs. But to turn that question around....Why SHOULDN'T they do PRT at 0600 when the duty day doesn't start until 0900?

He can make you do that. I've done it a bunch of times. It sucks because it's an extra-long day. Some units have CQ start at 0600, which fixes the issue.

Probably not the answer you want to hear but you're an NCO, buck up and lead the way. Be a leader and show your soldiers you can adapt and charge on when things might be difficult. Many have gone through a lot more difficult challenges. Great time to shine in front of your troops.

Why not? I never had a NCO in the CQ till after duty hours- the runner has there all day. The NCO was just suppose to keep checking in. Why waste na NCO during the duty day?

0900 is the normal hours that the duty day starts after have done daily PT. No you are not getting out of that day and the next day's PT. You will be normally be sitting for most of the 24 hours anyway.
