Is there a policy/regulation/alaract/milper message that covers similar requirements for Structured Self Development? Are Soldiers enrolled into SSD1 authorized time during the duty day to complete online training? 2021-08-19T21:40:36-04:00 SFC Private RallyPoint Member 7199538

When I was enrolled into the distance learning phase of SLC (2013ish), I received an email that implied that "unit is required to provide time and resources during the duty day for SM to complete training". But I think we get quite a bit of time to finish each level of DLC.

I haven't had to do DLC yet. After I went to SLC in 2018 (having had to defer it 3 times) I think a week after I got back I got an email for SSD 4. I was allowed to do it at work but I don't recall the email saying or implying that the unit had to provide time during the duty to to complete it. I got it done in a few days or so I think.

I have allowed soldiers to do it when it was SSD at work when they had some free time or something. I can't find anything that says a unit has to allow duty time to complete it. I think because we get quite a bit of time to complete it.
