There is some question as to whether or not the recent SCOTUS decision mandating gay marriage nationwide somehow also mandated nationwide reciprocity but the Commonwealth of Virginia doesn't seem to think so nor would I want to be the one to find out the answer is no. States to avoid regardless include the Peoples Republik of Manhattan (NY), Peoples Republik of the Chesapeake (Maryland), Peoples Republik of Aztlan (California), Peoples Republik of the Beltway (Virginia), Peoples Republik of Beantown (Massachuttes), and Peoples Republik of Obamastan (Illinois).

The link below is for the PA Firearms Owners Association and lists reciprocity with PA with links to the actual agreements and other restrictions. Take Colorado and Utah for example....Say you are in the parking lot and someone comes up to you and you feel threatened, even if they are just walking by and you pull your weapon, even if to show you have one....In Colorado you can get arrested. In Utah, nothing will happen. So before you do any carrying in another state that reciprocates your permit, understand the laws to where you are going. Laws are different everywhere you go. Like the others have said...research, may save you money and time in jail.

Half Nickel of the Day. If another state has reciprocity with your state for open carry, then you can carry in. CCW's work the same way. Many states recognize many other states. If you want to carry in all states you probably can get by with about 10 licenses. (my best guess) You also sort of answered your own question. If another state recognizes your Texas license, that means you don't need their state license. Hope that helps.
