Apparently, I was last of many "pricks" he was willing to deal with on RP. Seems suspect to me. Something seemed off about his words - the vibe.

Great point! Copyrights seem to be just a lawyers' full employment act.

I have always thought it that, as an engineer, every time I created a product or process and was paid for it the deal was complete; I did not get paid again every time someone used my product or process. Why is artistic intellectual property valued differently from engineering intellectual property?

No, I do Metal Art. My wife and I have designs that are totally unique. It is so hard to go to an art show and see some one has copied your work. A lot of people have the talent to do the work, but only a few can come up with new styles.
