Are any of your commands using Slack as an avenue of communication to set/accomplish tasks due to the lack of automation?

I'm considering creating a company work group in Slack to assign tasks and improve information flow within my organization. Does anybody have experience with that or is anyone currently using this app to accomplish this?

By "lack of automation" do you mean just not enough workstations, and your people want to use personal laptops?
Why not just have them use their personal laptops to remote in?
