So now that the ARB is being pushed out at least in the RC how do you like it? Is it better or worse than ORB/ERB?

I personally think the ORB/ERB is better. Why do I have a huge block of space for state awards when it will only apply to NG Soldiers or those who were awarded NG medals? They took away space so only one degree is shown. How will someone know if someone has one Master's Degree vs. three? Or two BAs vs. one. I saw the AC ORB vs. the AGR ORB and it is slightly different as well and they put their DA Photo on it.

I understand that we should pretty much all be on the same form to keep it uniform but I am not a fan of the ARB. And if anyone tells you that do not worry about your ARB if you have an ORB or ERB that is updated it will automatically show up the same on the ARB do not believe them. Mine was way jacked up with no awards and listing under my assignments the same assignment in almost every line with the wrong position titles, etc.

Sir, my response although 2 years late will shed some light on the ARB. Better late than never right?
I am the USARC RCMS ARB project lead so yes I am biased but for good reasons. The State award section only shows on National Guard ARBs now, we took it out of the Army Reserve ARB. Yes you can only show one degree on the ARB but you can input up to 3. Those degrees will show on your ORB/ERB and your IPPS-A SRB.

You are correct the ERB/ORB does not automatically update the ARB. We had over 100 ADOS-RC personnel working for over a year updating ARBs for the Army Reserve. When you took a look at your ARB it probably wasn't seen by an HR professional yet. You didn't have any information on it because it was a blank slate. Some info pulled from TAPDB-R however, 90% of it had to be updated by an HR professional using documents found in your iPERMS file.

The Army Reserve has been transitioning to the ARB for the past 3 years. It is paving the way forward for the new IPPS-A SRB, which is a whole different topic. Basically we are gathering data (from iPERMS and other source systems) for each soldier, storing that data in the RCMS-ARB, once IPPS-A comes online that data will push through TAPDB-R to IPPS-A.

Some data is already on your IPPS-A SRB (https://www.ipps-a-prod.army.mil). The Army Reserve and Tiber Creek are working on data transfer of all information onto the IPPS-A SRB.

I hope my response has helped you and anyone else reading this.

The one I saw last week was called an SRB. I am told it will be a while yet before mine is converted, so I am going to have to hold judgement for the most part. I will say that I am disappointed that it is being rolled out before it is ready. The overseas service block will be unavailable (grayed out) for officers for some time.

I have access to my SRB, and its missing alot of informaiton and has many errors from whatever sources they pulled the data. My ERB is 100% accurate, but the SRB is only updated once a month (currently dated 20140724). I have submitted the full survey for all the errors and hope to get a more correct copy when the next one is released.

I got the email today that my SRB was ready for viewing. Instead of being able to see my SRB, I was taken straight to the questionnaire asking if my SRB was accurate.

Log back in and try again. It did the same to me the first log in. I had issues getting the SRB to download the first few times, but it seems to be working now...
