They do change somewhat, but they're just as good. (Unlike the Wheel of Time series where they start sucking lol). But, if you like Epic fantasy, I HIGHLY recommend the Malazan series. I count it as good (or better) than Game of Thrones.Response by SN Greg Wright made Sep 7 at 2015 2:16 PM2015-09-07T14:16:48-04:002015-09-07T14:16:48-04:00SSG Michael Hathaway949155

MSgt Private RallyPoint Member I knew of the series but didn't get around to it. I watched the Legend of the Seeker tv show based loosely on the series. But, I bit the bullet finally this past spring at the urging of one my fellow soldiers and book fiends. I seriously had to push myself to stop reading so i could sleep or do homework, it was that interesting. Some of the plots in the books got a bit dry but sticking through to the climax of each book was well worth it, especially once you get into the relationships of the Sisters of Light against Emporer Jagang. The final battle between good vs evil at the end of the first main story arc was incredible. Then a new story arc started with Omen Machine, which I read that too. Sadly, I have not read the last few books since Army EU has been more training focused and UMUC has been ramping up on homework. Though I did see the last book at the PX, I am guilty of reading one of the last chapters and found myself crushed at what happens. I need to get the last couple of books to complete the series. I highly recommend TSOT series to any fantasy fan.Response by SSG Michael Hathaway made Sep 8 at 2015 5:44 AM2015-09-08T05:44:53-04:002015-09-08T05:44:53-04:00SSG Michael Hathaway949457

I just found out that Warheart, tentatively coming out this November, just may be the last book in the series. It has been confirmed, it is the last in both the Richard and Kahlan series as well as the whole Sword of Truth series.

Sidenote; I was looking forward to the prophetic prediction that their child would be a monster male confessor and how they would deal with that and the witch, Shota, who threatened to kill it if it were born.

Although, there is another series tied to TSOT starting with a book called the Law of Nines. It deals with their decendants on the world without magic. Perhaps there will be a sequel after Warheart is done.Response by SSG Michael Hathaway made Sep 8 at 2015 9:59 AM2015-09-08T09:59:27-04:002015-09-08T09:59:27-04:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member957175

TSgt, I've read them all and reread them when a new book comes out. Terry Goodkind does a good job of adding themes and underlying stories to keep it interesting. I highly recommend this author.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Sep 10 at 2015 7:10 PM2015-09-10T19:10:47-04:002015-09-10T19:10:47-04:002015-09-07T14:11:51-04:00
