Anyone know who issues the new credentials under the newly implemented Law Enforcment Officers Act (LEOSA)?

The Air Force will be doing the issuing! Last I heard the cress were approved and they were "making their way down to commands." As to when each will get and begin issuing...NO ONE KNOWS! ACC Nellis was told between March and Aug!!updates on SFS web site under LESO headline!

I saw a draft of the Air Force policy that is yet to be approved. I can't wait for the Army to catch up.

I think they will have a contractor issue them.

The new credentials are being issued under a federal law that affects local law enforcement as well as the federal agencies.

For local LEOs its about what their vehicles are to look like, down to the color scheme and how the decals for the agency are displayed. This only applies if the agency gets federal grant money for equipment.

The same rules apply for the credentials. My understanding is that this is all done under the direction of the Department of Home Land Security.

I spoke with our regimental leadership and they stated that they are conducting meetings to determine the proper credential in process. There is a lot to consider such as the soldiers status ( mental, training, career). I'm still waiting to hear more.

I'm going to try and get a copy of the Air Force security forces Creds. One of my friends is at the "Academy" for DAF and said he's with a couple guys who have Already been issued creds! I will try and post a pic of it!!

Just got mine a few months ago. Went to my HR office and exchanged my old ID for the credentials.

Be careful about making copies and posting. If like other federal LEO creds, illegal to reproduce, let alone post on the web. Not good OPSEC, as it puts a LE cred out there for the Jackal to use as a template. Let's not be our own enemy.
