Sounds like a good stop-gap, I wonder if they have thought about getting Retirees to do that same. With troops in uniform driving the busses, it could be a great Recruiting tool. To expose the kids to the Military doing something to serve the community. Great IdeaResponse by SSG Roger Ayscue made Oct 1 at 2021 5:09 PM2021-10-01T17:09:29-04:002021-10-01T17:09:29-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member7305444

Most likely state pay, rate unsure since last time I received it was back in 2008 for flood duty.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 1 at 2021 8:41 PM2021-10-01T20:41:52-04:002021-10-01T20:41:52-04:00SFC Michael Hasbun7305855

Of course there was no BAH either, and eventually people were put up in local hotels, that created its own issues resulting in hotel changes a couple times. Funny enough it wasn't the joes causing the problems by and large. It was Civilian staff causing problems or not holding to the agreement for the contract, but I digress from the BAS.

As you can imagine this pissed commanders and SNCO's off because now Soldiers were basically encouraged to eat fast food or go through the grocery store every single day and only buy a little of what they needed. On top of that the limited fridge space in the hotels also encouraged fast food, combined with the fact that they didn't want you traveling to locations with high concentrations of people such as stores. Eventually SAD ended and it was T32 though and all that nonsense went away.

Could be different depending on the State though for these bus driver orders.Response by SPC Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 4 at 2021 10:44 AM2021-10-04T10:44:09-04:002021-10-04T10:44:09-04:002021-10-01T16:58:56-04:00
