I haven't seen a one of them "climb to glory" though. The hunting is cold.Response by CW4 Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 17 at 2015 5:06 AM2015-12-17T05:06:32-05:002015-12-17T05:06:32-05:00LTC Private RallyPoint Member1181553

Talk to range control, they'll be able to star you in the right direction. I know hunting was allowed when I was stationed there almost ten years ago but I don't think you were allowed to eat the meat.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 17 at 2015 7:31 AM2015-12-17T07:31:28-05:002015-12-17T07:31:28-05:00SGM Private RallyPoint Member1181571

I searched for Ft.Drum but could not find it. OK, there used to be a Rod and Gun Club, that once organized bear hunts....not sure it is still active.Response by SGM Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 17 at 2015 7:43 AM2015-12-17T07:43:40-05:002015-12-17T07:43:40-05:00CSM Private RallyPoint Member1181726

Drum has some fantastic hunting. http://www.drum.army.mil/PublicWorks/Pages/FishandWildlife.aspx

That link should give you all the information you need. Whitetail Deer, Wild Turkeys, Black Bears and small game are readily available.

It is not difficult to get permission to hunt on the many dairy farms in the area.

If you like waterfowl hunting you are in paradise. You will see flocks of both Canadian and Snow geese that will boggle the mind. There are many lakes as well as the Saint Lawrence river.

If you drive just a short distance to the east you will find yourself in the Adirondack park which has millions of acres of wilderness area to hunt on.

If you have a bow and you pass their test you can hunt in certain garrison areasResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 5 at 2016 12:38 PM2016-01-05T12:38:03-05:002016-01-05T12:38:03-05:002015-12-17T04:12:38-05:00
