Anyone have any advice for a young private to stand out at Bragg?

My ERB states I'm going civil affairs and I already have Airborne. What can I do to stay squared away in the supply room and in general?

Do your job to the best of your ability, and give it 100% more, if your supervisor gives you an outstanding evaluation on your EER you'll make small waves start to happen.

At risk of sounding like your dad, No, girlfriends for your first year there. stay away from clicks. Judging from your question you seem to very new Private in the Army. So, mouth is shut, ears and eyes open. for your first year volunteer for Special projects and assignments and perform it with vigor. When going to assemblies or PT if you are 10 minutes early your 10 minutes late. When running in company formation and the Guideon bearer started the flag up high and now is at half mast get up there and grab that thing like you own it and lead the way, don't be afraid. That is how you stand out. simply put, do your job, do it well and don't be told twice for anything. Oh, stay away from the E-4 Mafia...

I was in Civil Affairs for 8 years. It’s a fast pace unit. Get with other company supply Sergeants who have been there a while. They can teach you the ins and outs of how they operate. You will be dealing with a lot of equipment and items not available or used in the regular Army.

Try to affiliate yourself with other 92Y, AKA-Networking... when you don't have the supply that you need for your unit, someone else can help you.. my Supply Sergeant taught me that and it came in handy.

Civil Affairs 92Y is so different than RA 92Y. A left seat/right seat transition is the best advice I can give you. Been 92Y4 within CA for 3 years now. Had to quickly adapt to the way CA runs. Very reactive to mission takers.

So early in your career. My advice is do well in PT. Work toward going to warrior leader school. I would also ask about air assault both of these schools are in your career map. In your free time take some college courses and if you do not have a 110 GT score work to improve your asvab score because you might not qualify for certain supply jobs

Be yourself and DO NOT become distracted by others, for what you are being taught IS essential for your survival. Learn as much of everything you are exposed to. Good luck!

GO HARD, Push for AAMs, ask them to put you in unit armor school & GCSS. They are gentlemen courses & will get you promotion points
