SFC Ralph E Kelley3819193

Here's a true story - A private had to piss but he was alone in the back of a moving Gamma Goat. That's was an Army 1970s, 6-wheeled, amphibious, light truck.
.
As the vehicle entered the largish stream, he was peeing out the rear tailgate. It was a rough entry and he fell over the back strap. The open crotch of his pants caught in the trailer hitch.
.
He was dragged 50 feet across the stream upside down, head under water, until the gamma Goat crawled up the other bank, whereupon his weight ripped his pants off him. The far-side security team hadn't seen how it happened - just his limp body flopping to the waters edge. They radioed "mandown at the ford" and rushed a couple of guys and the medic over to see if he was still alive.
.
I was TCing the next vehicle (we were the rear escort), a M114 (1960s/70s Armored Scout track). I radioed the Column Commander to continue movement, while me and my wingman secured the crossing. On reaching the other bank, I jumped off to find out what happened. My scout section had been rounding a curve and we hadn't seen his fall either. He was alive but groggy, puking up water and except for being a pant-less submarine - really not bad off.
.
After a couple of minutes he recovered enough to explain what had transpired. His one complaint was now he had to piss again. The far-side security team leader let out a harsh chuckle and wisecracked, "So you want the Gamma Goat to make another trip?"Anyone got any funny stories about something that happened that they saw while in service - Something service folks would find funny?2018-07-23T19:32:27-04:00SFC Ralph E Kelley3819193

Here's a true story - A private had to piss but he was alone in the back of a moving Gamma Goat. Their Skipper came up from Bangor with his SEL to take a look. I was describing the security system when a validated part alarm went off. As the duty guard was spilling out, the cameras did their pan/tilt thing to zoom in on Lance Corporal Simmons taking a whizz through the security fence, hence setting off a sensor. That video clip was a staple in our annual Seabee Ball event.

Too many to recount here but your "leaker" triggered this memory.Response by CAPT Kevin B. made Jul 23 at 2018 8:02 PM2018-07-23T20:02:38-04:002018-07-23T20:02:38-04:00MAJ Ken Landgren3819358

I was a tank platoon leader in Kuwait. We stopped for an MRE lunch. All of a sudden I feel tapping on my boot, a goat herder was trying to get my attention because he needed water. I felt sheepish, as a goat herder and his numerous goats snuck up on us.Response by MAJ Ken Landgren made Jul 23 at 2018 8:37 PM2018-07-23T20:37:39-04:002018-07-23T20:37:39-04:00SPC Greg Campbell3819376

Gammagoat going around the bend under its own power?? I was a specialist in the National Guard going through basic training. I was a specialist because I had a bachelor's degree already. Anyway, 2 recruits were getting kicked out of basic training. One had two strikes against him and one had one strike against her. 1 Soldier tried taking isopropyl alcohol for suicide. This person was unstable and was about to be chaptered out. That same messed up individual was involved with getting busted for engaging in oral sex or in this case, the homely white blond rubenesque female was engaged in having oral sex with him during lights out one evening. So he was on his way out and she was now on her way out. She was not a very attractive female and she wore glasses. The sarcastic drill sergeants called her "Action Jackson" because her last name was Jackson.

LOL true story!! 787 MP Bn.

https://goo.gl/images/xRxR6z
