While stationed at Camp Fuji Japan, I climbed Mt. Fuji twice. They say if you climb it once you are a wise man, but if you climb it twice you are a fool! Anyone climb it once, twice or more?

SMSgt (Join to see) I climbed it a few months ago. Going down is the hardest part. Altitude got to me a bit. Dinner at the Station 8 was good, not so much coming up.
Definitely true on the climbing it twice being a fool. Guess I'll be a fool next summer.

Lt. Morris, I climbed it two weeks after the first time and I could only laugh at my stupidity half way down the back side of the mountain. When I reached the bottom, I swore that I would never do it again! Twice was good enough for me. It took me 8 hours to get to the top and 6 hours to get down. I did get two Fiji sticks out of the deal though.

I didn't get any Fuji sticks and I regret it. I heard the best way down is to use the sticks and walking side to side like your skiing.
It was really cold and raining when we got to the top at 0200. No sunrise moment for us, so we'll have to plan better next time.

I went with a group but didn't make it to the top. Not sure what that makes me, but I did meet a nice Australian guy on the way down!

At least you tried SrA West. I'm sure it was still a great experience for you. Some of our folks actually re-enlisted at the top and rang the bell with their Fuji sticks.

Yes. Start early. Coming down in the dark is a not good thing. I feel no need to do it again.
