I have contacted the NCOIC at HRC at Ft. Knox Kentucky, and have been told numerous times that there is an OML that has been created. I find it hard to believe, due to the simple fact that there are SGT non promotables within my battalion and company, those of whom I KNOW I am senior to, that are receiving enrollment into the course. If anyone has any type of guidance on what I can do, or where to being looking, it would greatly appreciated, due to the fact that this is the only thing that is keeping me from being promoted to SSG. Thank you and bless you all!Anyone else having trouble with getting Enrolled in ALC Common Core (Phase 1)?2014-02-20T12:11:23-05:00SGT(P) Private RallyPoint Member61045<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Hey everybody, I don't know if it's just me, but as a SGT(P) who has already attended their residence portion (Phase 2) of ALC, I am having extreme trouble in getting enrolled into Phase 1 of ALC. I'd get with your S-3 Schools NCO.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Feb 28 at 2014 4:36 PM2014-02-28T16:36:18-05:002014-02-28T16:36:18-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member67566<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I submitted two 4187 thru my BN to HRC. Finally received CC after 15 months after completing phase two. My advise is to summit 4187 till you receive it. And I know for a fact as you do that SGT non promotables and SGT(p)'s are being enrolled into the course. I also emailed HRC and was told the same crap. I then asked some questions as to why my peers are being enrolled before me and was completely ignored by the SFC, he only gave me the generic answer that I was not priority.Response by SSG(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 6 at 2014 2:28 PM2014-03-06T14:28:26-05:002014-03-06T14:28:26-05:00MSG Private RallyPoint Member70876<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I got the chance to see CSM Daily (TRADOC CSM) yesterday and he stated that ALC Common Core will be transitioning to SSD 2. He said it is just too hard to get Soldiers enrolled and too hard for the Army to track it. It will also go from being worth 2 College credits to 4-6 depending on your educational goal. Not sure what the timeline will be for the change over.Response by MSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 6 at 2014 2:32 PM2014-03-06T14:32:48-05:002014-03-06T14:32:48-05:00CW3 Private RallyPoint Member78299<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><p>It blows my mind that a DL course has an OML to begin with, makes zero sense at all. I tried to assist one of my subs get right/ready for ALC, to include enrolling in CC (since no one tells you about it). The branch manager literally laughed at us on the phone and said he was "Too junior to get enrolled."</p><p> </p><p>Then why is the army paying to send him to school? What a joke.</p>Response by CW3 Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 18 at 2014 1:40 PM2014-03-18T13:40:26-04:002014-03-18T13:40:26-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member90656<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><p>ALC has nothing to do with you being promted to E6.</p><p>ALC is for E6 to E7.</p><p> </p><p>all you need for E5 to E6 is WLC. </p><p> </p>Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 1 at 2014 11:06 AM2014-04-01T11:06:36-04:002014-04-01T11:06:36-04:00SFC Private RallyPoint Member90658<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><p>ALC has nothing to do with being promted from E5 to E6.. thats WLC.</p><p>ALC is E6 to E7. of course, all required SSD courses must be completed as well to attend those courses.</p><p> </p><p>last i heard, ALC CC is considered SSD2.. but there is no official SSD2 course.</p><p> </p>Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 1 at 2014 11:10 AM2014-04-01T11:10:07-04:002014-04-01T11:10:07-04:001SG Private RallyPoint Member90665<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Get in contact with me, I may be able to help you or at least tell you what you need to do. I work in TRADOC and can figure out what your hold up is. There should not be a OML for a DL course.Response by 1SG Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 1 at 2014 11:16 AM2014-04-01T11:16:58-04:002014-04-01T11:16:58-04:002014-02-20T12:11:23-05:00
