SFC Thomas Nichols3479553<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anyone else dropping social media accounts due to the recent data mining and privacy concerns? For me, the risk/benefit ratio is leaning away from benefit. While I enjoy connecting with people I know/knew on Facebook, I don't like how much info they gather about me and my activities. While Facebook may be focused on how to turn my info into an advertising revenue stream, I'm not sure others that may have access or gain access through nefarious means are so well meaning. Your thoughts?Anyone else dropping social media accounts?2018-03-25T09:45:36-04:00SFC Thomas Nichols3479553<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anyone else dropping social media accounts due to the recent data mining and privacy concerns? Smart phones track you. If you have a fire stick on your tv it listens to you. Your home computer tracks your location and everything you look at. Cars track mileage. You could make a long list of the products that violate ones privacy.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 25 at 2018 10:30 AM2018-03-25T10:30:42-04:002018-03-25T10:30:42-04:00SPC Erich Guenther3479777<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I never spent too much time on FB and they don't have much of a clue on what my interests or activities are. Always been nervous of their true intentions due to the immaturity and naivete of their CEO........who in my view is far less developed between the ears than Donald Trump.Response by SPC Erich Guenther made Mar 25 at 2018 10:52 AM2018-03-25T10:52:07-04:002018-03-25T10:52:07-04:00COL Private RallyPoint Member3479977<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I dropped FB because of all the idiots. The important stuff stays off of the net anyways.Response by SGT Joseph Gunderson made Mar 25 at 2018 2:26 PM2018-03-25T14:26:57-04:002018-03-25T14:26:57-04:00Christopher John Taylor3480407<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Absolutely, although, Facebook won't allow you to delete your account anymore it seems. (I suspect due to their mining algorithms) So, I did what any smart red blooded American would do. I filled my profile info with the most far fetched BS I could think of and saved it all for them.Response by Christopher John Taylor made Mar 25 at 2018 3:06 PM2018-03-25T15:06:04-04:002018-03-25T15:06:04-04:002018-03-25T09:45:36-04:00
