5-17 Cav was present in Korea from 88 to 96. They spent about 2 years at FT Hood will very little info or history on them.

5th Squadron, 17th Cavalry, 2nd Infantry Division was only in existence from 1988 to 1996 in Korea. Before activating in Korea, 5-17 spent 2 years at FT Hood...

That was actually our sponsor unit at Advanced Camp at Bragg, summer of 1988.

I was 1/17th at bragg, I was in Korea from 87 to 88... We supported some of the 5/17th Cobras transfers right before I left korea. I don't have anything more relevant to add though.
