Anybody every been stationed at Dyess? Can anyone tell me how that area is like.

I was stationed there from 1985 until 1990 and I loved it. the base has everything you could want and the relationship between the base and the city was great. I realize that was 25 years ago but I haven't heard anything bad since I left. Can't believe it has been that long. That area is awesome for the military. The locals really love is.

I was there from 1985 - 1990 on the B-1B FOT&E Test Team. I was a 462x0 also. Base was great. Great facilities. City of Abilene was great. They hosted a BBQ for all base personnel and their families every year. Dallas/Fort Worth is not far. Lakes not far. I really enjoyed my time there. Not sure how much has changed since then.

It’s a quiet area a lot of guys settle down there with their families/ retire. Weapons was usually a tight group and hung together a lot but this was in 03-05. Good luck
