Holy hell....politics, religion AND beer...that sounds like a true recipe for disaster! You should toss a couple loaded pistols in to make it interesting!

I'd caution how far the civilian world creeps into the time-capsule that is a vet. I'd say it's a noble idea, but leave Politics and Religion out of the conversation. Instead share stories about all the barracks jokes and deployment pranks and the happy and sad stories. Define the parts of us that still keep everyone connected rather than discuss the things that might serve to rip us apart. Then you can enjoy your brothers and sisters more even if you agree or not on ideologies.
