Going for the EFMB in Mar/Apr up in NJ. We are having daily study halls after work with a curriculum including almost everything on the scoresheets. I know they will go over everything during train-up, any insider tips from those who have earned the badge?

The physical portion is a level above hard. Work everyday on your physical exercise and carry a backpack with about 40 pounds. That will help build your leg muscles. Also, shorten the time you sleep during the night to about 6 hours. Good Luck!!!

My best advice is that you should be boning up on your standards now before even getting there, just like your promotion board, drill it into your brain, do as much hands on as you can get a chance to do, use your battles as patients and examples left and right, the more it becomes second nature the easier it will come to you when it counts.

See if you can borrow some training aids from your BN/BDE S-3 to include some artillery simulators to prepare you for potential combat simulation during the EFMB, make sure you notify the MPs ahead of time before setting them off or you could have a whole different issue to deal with. Practice, practice, practice, and relax, don't over stress or you will cause yourself to forget or make stupid mistakes, relax and take it in stride and go with what you know.

Good luck.

Congratulations! You are breathing rare air. I hope you get an opportunity to teach others the standard and see them succeed as well.
