Where can I go to get a correction made to my DD-214? https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/any-help-i-am-having-a-problem-getting-a-correction-to-my-dd-214 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So a couple years ago, I went to go get a veterans license plate in the state of Texas. They had an option to get one with the ARCOM emblem on the tag, just bring your DD-214 which I did. I discovered while in line that the ARCOM I received did not get annotated on my DD-214. I have now twice, sent in letters to Milpers in St. Louis a request for correction, with my details and copies of the orders, certificates, etc. and have never received any response from Milpers. I did this first a couple of years ago, and again around May 22. Now October 22, still nothing. Where do I need to go to get this error corrected? The time to correct is when you sit down with the clerk doing it and check as it being typed. Mine asked me if there was anything I wanted to put on it before he wrapped it up. Requesting a DD-215 correction to your DD-214 is a routine thing. Look over your existing DD-214 very, very carefully. If there is ANYTHING else wrong with it, the dates are off, Service schools or MOS&#39;s are missing, etc., include that information, so the new DD-215 can correct everything at once. You don&#39;t want to be going back and forth over nickels and dimes when you can get it all done at once.<br /><br />They are simple to file, go straight to BMCR office in WashDC, and the BCMR staff will sort it out. It may not even need to go before the actual BCMR, as a bonafide BMCR case number, because BCMR will see your comments that you already tried to get it done with &quot;lesser&quot; administrative means, and they will send it to the right office to try to get that office to fix it. <br /><br />Essentially, the BCMR will thump the right office on the head, demanding the administrative correction be made ASAP because the BCMR doesn&#39;t want to have to formally adjudicate something that should be corrected via administrative means. Be sure to send all the pertinent documents and a timeline of your previous efforts to get the &quot;error or injustice&quot; corrected before you submitted the BCMR appeal. BMCR will step in and make a formal adjudication if the Service office fails or refuses to do so, and most likely they would thump heads again, so I&#39;ve never seen a righteous, simple administrative error NOT handled properly and quickly when the BCMR asks/directs something, as BCMR is a higher power...<br /><br />Submit your DD-149 online.<br /><br />See: <a target="_blank" href="https://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-overview.html">https://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-overview.html</a><br /><br />Cheers, WKB <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default"> <div class="pta-link-card-picture"> </div> <div class="pta-link-card-content"> <p class="pta-link-card-title"> <a target="blank" href="https://arba.army.pentagon.mil/abcmr-overview.html">The United States Army | Army Review Boards Agency</a> </p> <p class="pta-link-card-description"></p> </div> <div class="clearfix"></div> </div> LtCol William Bentley Fri, 14 Oct 2022 02:44:37 -0400 2022-10-14T02:44:37-04:00 2022-10-11T17:29:44-04:00
