Any advice for basic training at Fort Jackson and also AIT for a 91B at Fort Lee?

I’m almost finished with AIT as a 91B and I went to fort Jackson for bct. Best thing I can say is try to get yourself in the best shape possible before going to bct. While your in bct just keep a positive mental attitude and trust the process. Some days will suck bad and some days will be really fun. I actually had a great time in basic and made awesome friends throughout. It’ll seem like time as at a stand still because everyday single day is basically a 16 hour work day but before you know it your on family day and graduating and looking back it went by really fast. AIT is a cake walk for the most part.

I’ll be 100 percent honest... I didn’t learn much in 91B AIT. I felt like a lot of the instruction was good ol’ Army “check the box” stuff.

That being said... try and learn as much as you can! I didn’t like the 91B MOS my first few years because I didn’t know it or learn it properly! Lucky for me, I am in a unit full of skilled mechanics and they have taught me.
