It's called the Amazon Warriors program.... We actually have an event on the 11th for our Veteran employees in Seattle. Unfortunately I have to do a high profile CM that day at my site so I cannot attend.

There is a section of recruiters in Amazon that are specifically tasked to hiring Veterans (I can give anyone their contact info in a message).

As far as progression in the company, they encourage growth, if you are NOT applying or studying for something above your position, you're wrong. My manager talks to each of us 1 on 1 weekly asking us what we're working on, what are things we've done to progress our career, feedback, etc. So it's not specific to Veterans for progression.

We also offer a mentorship program that will allow you to meet up with other Amazonians to learn from them (Warehouse associate can go on their own time and learn from SDE's at AWS). And what happens from that is up to you and your drive.

It's easy to find out who has served based off the internal Amazon social site (I'm not sure if the name of it is sensitive, so I won't say it) but it allows you to join communities and if you go on someones profile it will say they're a part of the 101st Airborne group, or 75th Rangers group, etc.

I think CPT Aaron Kletzing would be able to give you more insight. Usually what they are looking to fill are minimum wage entry level warehouse picker/packer jobs. SFC J Fullerton Fri, 02 Sep 2016 12:05:17 -0400 2016-09-02T12:05:17-04:00 2016-09-02T00:20:57-04:00
