Haha the question itself is funny, but I actually am very particular about my pillow. I need something that's firm (like my mattress kinda hard too actually). I think this is something of a side effect of sleeping on some really hard surfaces throughout life, but a soft mattress and pillow just feels like mush to me. I've been using a firm memory-foam pillow. I can't remember what it's called but it's about to wear out so I will have to look and go buy the same one again. It's been great.

They are all great, for a few months, then they go flat. Doesn't matter if it is a $10 or a $100 pillow.

After years of waking up feeling like I got hit by a car, complete with muscle spasms, the inability to turn my head one way or the other, and constant tension headaches, I started taking my pillow shopping much more seriously.

Just reading the title did make me laugh! But you are right, there is something to be said about a good, down feather filled pillow. I have several that were in my home growing up that I still use to this day - they are very hard to find and they don't make 'em like they used too!

Last year my wife and I were Black Friday Shopping and stopped in at Value City Furniture...just for walking in we each go a $70 pillow for free. Since I was looking for one anyhow, it worked out.

I have too many creaks and aches anymore to not take pillow shopping easy. If the pillow is comfortable enough, I'll shell out a bunch of money.

I am guilty of ALWAYS forgetting a pillow whenever I go away for training or to the field. Even a small one. Since I started living with my wife (3 years now) I still forget it all the time, but she makes sure that I don't leave without it.

No, I check pillows. I have learned if you buy the real cheap ones they go flat in about a week.
