In another forum we were discussing the clerk who refuses to issue marriage licenses to gays (she's in jail now). Even Christians aren't backing her convictions. If we lack conviction, we will lose this country for good.

As the days roll by, it seems that the nation I served for 26-years is not the same one as when I enlisted back in '87. We have become a nation where we seem to support those who wish us harm but disregard those who have stood by our side for close to 100 years or more. We used to be a nation where EVERYONE's rights and or beliefs were protected and where the majority carried the "weight". Now it seems that any and every minority anything, has the right to trample upon or label as racist, misogynistic or plain evil, anyone who has differing beliefs. We bend over backwards to welcome and support illegal immigrants and at times put more emphasis on aiding them than we do for or on behalf of the natural born/naturalized citizens and LEGAL immigrants who deserve the aid/support first. The last 10 years or so have been especially divisive on our nation between Dem and Rep, white and black, them and us, etc, etc,; we really need to reverse our course or I fear the country my grandkids reside in will no longer be the United States of America.

I'm right there with you. It's turning into something I'm nearly ashamed of. What happened to being able to leave your doors and windows open...and knowing your neighbors and having block parties and BBQ's?

What happened to riding your bikes and roller skating and catching fire flies....I never see fire flies anymore. Do they even exist?

It was great before POLITICAL CORRECTNESS....Wish we could go back to before PC...PC has caused so much turmoil...mayhem...chaos and strife....Discord and no one seems to be happy about anything.

Most unfortunately, NO. Our Constitution is being shredded and those we elected seem to have forgotten what they were elected to do. They seem more preoccupied with being politically correct and taking care of their careers than they do with addressing the many problems facing this nation, most of which they are responsible for thanks to their bungling economic and fiscal mismanagement and inability to say "No' to Special Interests.

Nope. I was just telling a friend that Sodom and Gomorrah (if there really was such a place) doesn’t hold a candle to the "overall" condition of this country, and others. Yes, there are pockets of morality and sanity, mostly small, Midwest farming towns, but, unfortunately, they seem to have little to no effect on the country at large. I often take refuge in my memories of the 1950s when this country last saw both sense and sensibility...in spite of some obvious political issues of the day.
