SPC Private RallyPoint Member6599810<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have called the VA who said they couldn't answer and my local Vet Center at school didn't have a clear answer. I have 3 months left in my post 9/11. I did pay into the Montgomery. I know if i use all my benefits I can file to have my $1200 refunded. I have heard that I can instead receive additional Benefits under the Montgomery instead of getting refunded. Does anyone know if this is true or if you have actually done this?Am I entitled to any Montgomery Benefits even though I elected to use Post 9/11?2020-12-22T08:58:25-05:00SPC Private RallyPoint Member6599810<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I have called the VA who said they couldn't answer and my local Vet Center at school didn't have a clear answer. What theyre referring to is that you can use your Montgomery GI Bill completely and then get an additional 12 months of the Post 9/11. But if you use your Post 9/11 you can't use the Montgomery afterwards.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 22 at 2020 9:21 AM2020-12-22T09:21:35-05:002020-12-22T09:21:35-05:00LTC Eugene Chu6599856<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Contact the VA since they handle GI Bill. Montgomery GI Bill is being phased out and you may or may not have extended Post 9/11. <br /><br /><a target="_blank" href="https://news.yahoo.com/gi-bill-changes-coming-2">https://news.yahoo.com/gi-bill-changes-coming-2</a> [login to see] 45.html <div class="pta-link-card answers-template-image type-default">
