Am I allowed to put patches that I did not earn on my bag?

Define bag? Personal bag? No reg saying you can't do that. You will get funny looks but as long as you explain that they represent the memory of your Grandfather and that he is your motivation to be SF....then those that give you odd looks can go pound rocks if they don't like your answer.

I don't pretend to know all the different types of bags, but if it is an official bag, then check with AR 670-1 and your squad leader. Generally, decorations are frowned upon. If it is an unofficial bag, be prepared to answer the inevitable questions the patches will elicit.

I know of no rules prohibiting it. I think it is a very daring move unless, you are putting all the patches for your Bde, Corp, or such. I would recommend against it.
