Am I able to change the address at which my belongings will be moved from when I’m getting ready to PCS?

I just commissioned and I’ll be heading off to BOLC soon. They moved my BOLC dates up quite a bit from what I had on my initial orders so I’ll be moving back to my dads for a while until I leave. I’m no longer able to stay at the address I provided to have my things moved from. Can I change where the movers will be going to when it gets closer to my PCS time and how would I go about that?

Go to Outbound Transportation right now to coordinate this. They will answer you on changes and availability of transportation on that date. They are the ones who contract for trucks.

When I ets'd from Korea in 1970 part of the process was to provide the Army with the delivery destination for my "stuff" which wasn't very much actually. Seems to me that Personnel handled all that back then.

You have to let them know. I had a pack out once and out orders changed to a new location a week before I left. I had to let the moving company know. You should have a point of contact. Just do it as soon as possible.

You have to go the the transportation office you initially worked with to make the change of address. If you used move.mil, and already have a pick up date at the old
Location; you need to contact the help desk and request to have the location changed with them since if it’s outside your old area will change the carrier. It sounds like you have some time, if it all goes south; you can always put the items in storage, take what you need in your car and do a Personally Procurred Move (used to be called DITY move) and when you get to your new location or PCS from BOLC can have the items picked up at that location and sent to your first duty station. Your storage costs will be reimbursed when you file your voucher.
