Allow me to brag on the response to and destruction of a 1000 lbs bomb by one of the units in the BN. https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/allow-me-to-brag-on-the-response-to-and-destruction-of-a-1000-lbs-bomb-by-one-of-the-units-in-the-bn

I've had a couple messages concerning the large 1,000 lbs. WWII bomb that was recently found on Grafenwoehr and wanted to brag on the efforts these professional Soldiers display every day. We are fortunate enough to have two EOD companies in the BN, 720 EOD redeployed this afternoon.

The 702 Ordnance Company (EOD) is the busiest unit (of all EOD) in the DOD, when dealing with responses. I am sharing the link from their response on Thursday. They are led by an absolute professional command team and lead an exceptionally dedicated group of professionals that are always working hard to improve themselves while responding to real world missions as well as protecting the lives of some of our most senior elected and appointed officials. SFC Johnson (702 EOD) set the worlds record for the fastest 1-mile run time wearing the bomb suit (just over 8 minutes).

I am really proud of what both of the EOD companies in the BN do (702 & 720).

http://www.army.mil/article/144935/WWII_bomb_defused_a_community_effort_at_Army_garrison_in_Grafenwoehr/

Community effort diffuses WWII bomb at Army garrison in Grafenwoehr

A World War II-era bomb was discovered at the Army garrison in Grafenwoehr, Germany, setting in motion a rapid response by Army officials and a German ordnance disposal team that prompted the community's safe evacuation and the bomb's eventual disposal.

Sat, 21 Mar 2015 17:55:36 -0400 Allow me to brag on the response to and destruction of a 1000 lbs bomb by one of the units in the BN. https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/allow-me-to-brag-on-the-response-to-and-destruction-of-a-1000-lbs-bomb-by-one-of-the-units-in-the-bn

I've had a couple messages concerning the large 1,000 lbs.
