SSG Private RallyPoint Member 7560618 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently serving as an instructor in OSUT for just short of a year and a half. I have been selected to be an ALC instructor (MOS 19k) and was curious of how this will if any affect career progression. I have already completed the criteria and have earned my basic army instructor badge in current position. Also open for any advice before hand. How will being selected to be an ALC Instructor impact my career progression? 2022-03-07T20:01:57-05:00 SSG Private RallyPoint Member 7560618 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>I am currently serving as an instructor in OSUT for just short of a year and a half. Going from OSUT where you are teaching privates how to do the job to ALC where you are teaching NCO’s how to lead other NCO’s and become more competent in their 30 level responsibilities shows that you can adapt to new challenges and you are in fact great at your job. <br /><br />In the MI world, it’s backwards because AIT is one thing, and ALC is basically AIT again lol. <br /><br />Go for the ALC slot, get your SAIB Response by SSG Private RallyPoint Member made Mar 7 at 2022 9:58 PM 2022-03-07T21:58:21-05:00 2022-03-07T21:58:21-05:00 MSG Tony Pendley 7981923 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Anytime you can add a specialty to your promotion packet is a plus, instructor, specialty schools such as recruiting and DI, Airborne/Ranger, all that makes a packet look good. You should also challenge yourself to go before boards, instructor of the year, etc. you should also try and balance that with leadership time in a unit in order to have a solid promotion packet. <br />Good luck Response by MSG Tony Pendley made Nov 14 at 2022 11:25 PM 2022-11-14T23:25:11-05:00 2022-11-14T23:25:11-05:00 SSG Roger Ayscue 8840539 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Since this is over 2 years old, How did it work out for you?
