What do you guys think? I can understand their initial reaction, however had this been someone else? Would the reaction be the same? Race card aside, it was handled pretty inappropriately as well. The situation could and should have been assessed on the spot especially since the engineering teacher already had knowledge.

If any student was to bring a fake gun to school, they would be in jail and the parents would be investigated by CPS. But a kid who's father is an attorney with no real loyalty to the US brings a device into a school that looks like a bomb... Nothing to see here folks, it's just the child of a father who was the defense attorney prosecuting a preacher who exercised his first amendment right of free speech when he burned a koran. This sounds like a payday stunt by a greedy man who ran for President of the Sudan, twice.

So i don't provide a link to satisfy your need to justify a claim that is readily available and it makes you right? Do your own fargin' research.

in the kids own fargin' words he knew, with foresight, that it could have looked suspicious. Stop trolling my posts if you haven't got anything of value to add.

Cpl (Join to see) - Corporal; My apologies for embarrassing you by asking you to actually verify your accusations.

You will, however, have to understand my position that "When someone says things which are provably untrue the rest of their assertions on the same subject tend to appear to lack a certain amount of contact with reality and if they aren't prepared to back up those statements then there is a suspicion that they knew they were false when they made them.".

COL Ted Mc You didn't embarrass me, you embarrass yourself when you automatically assume it's made up because I don't think like you. I choose not to limit my beliefs based on politics alone. I was trained to research and think outside the box. Being an Avionics Tech does not limit my skill to electronics, those troubleshooting skills can be used in all facets of life.

Cpl (Join to see) - Corporal; You still haven't actually addressed two significant questions, those being "Why do you say that the boy's father "was the defense attorney prosecuting a preacher who exercised his first amendment fright of free speech when he burned a koran" when it isn't true?" and "Do you actually care if it is true or not?".

Thinking outside the box is frequently useful - provided that you actually know what a box is and aren't confusing it with a paper bag. At other times it is simply a waste of time and effort.

PS - I didn't say that I assumed that what you were saying was false because you didn't think like I did - I said that one of the things that you were saying was false (and verifiably false at that) and that leads to the conclusion that the rest of what you were saying had little contact with reality. Please feel free to BELIEVE whatever you feel like believing, just don't use demonstrably false statements to "prove" that what you BELIEVE is what is real.

SSG Washington George - Staff; Absolutely correct. The only way to protect all "Real True Patriotic White Christian Conservative American Patriots" is to send everyone who isn't a "Real True Patriotic White Christian Conservative American Patriot" off to "The Camps" before "relocating" them permanently so that they can no longer spread their anti "Real True Patriotic White Christian Conservative American Patriot" lies.

And, of course, we'll simply have to ban all electronic and/or mechanical timekeeping devices because they MIGHT be part of a bomb.

PV2 Scott Goodpasture - Private; Strangely enough I am just as much "anti-liberal" as I am "anti-conservative".

My philosophy is "If it didn't work under the same circumstances before then it isn't going to work now BUT if it did work why are you changing it to something that you can only say SHOULD work?".

I guess that you could say that what I really am is "Anti-Dolt".

This is an interesting response from a Muslim group. I have to agree so some degree.

I think the teacher over reacted and arresting the child was too much without providing proof of threat.

If any other kid at that school had brought a clock that looked like a bomb they would have been arrested too.

Since we seem to be posting this story over, and over, and over ..
Let me feel free to post this response over, and over, and over....

What do the following kids have in common?

Peter Mathis of Wilmington, North Carolina
Haley Zinke and Tasha Williams of Turtle Lake, North Dakota
Logan Weimer of Holland, Ohio
Indy Brumbraugh and Cesar Limas of Dade City, Florida
Tori Clark of Ellis, Kansas
Ahmed Mohamed, Irving, Texas

They all brought home made clocks to school!

Which one ended up in hand-cuffs?

Do you actually know what the inside of your clock looks like?
(hint: it looks a lot like that)
Do you know what explosive ordnance looks like?
(hint: it looks nothing like that)

You'd think he brought an aluminum pressure cooker to school in his backpack or something. And sandwiches eaten into the shape of a gun without a permit, well, unregistered cheese kills!

I've called the FBI and they should be at your house to take you into custody for making something that may appear to be a bomb to the untrained eye.

OK that's what they look like. Does it have the capability of setting an alarm that could energize a coil of a relay that could close its contacts that could then send a 9V DC Signal to an electric blasting cap that could detonate wait for it.... some symtex or Trinitrotoluene?

IMO, this could've been handled better but are this child's parents ignorant? Surely they, being Muslims living in Texas, are self aware enough to know that their kid bringing something like this to school is not a good idea.
