There’s an Army reg about this. As a retired member you can wear your uniform for a special event such as a wedding Lt Col Jim Coe Sun, 14 Jun 2020 20:42:41 -0400 2020-06-14T20:42:41-04:00 Response by LTC Jason Mackay made Jun 14 at 2020 10:12 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/after-i-retire-will-i-still-be-allowed-to-wear-my-dress-uniform-for-my-wedding?n=6006578&urlhash=6006578 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Yes, as a retiree you are authorized under AR670-1 LTC Jason Mackay Sun, 14 Jun 2020 22:12:09 -0400 2020-06-14T22:12:09-04:00 Response by SGT Christopher Hayden made Jun 14 at 2020 11:01 PM https://www.rallypoint.com/answers/after-i-retire-will-i-still-be-allowed-to-wear-my-dress-uniform-for-my-wedding?n=6006720&urlhash=6006720 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Even if you weren&#39;t authorized (which you are), who&#39;s going to tell you no? This is codified in Title 10 of the United States Code, section 772. Title 10 Section 772 is echoed in the appropriate uniform regulations for all the services. Here are the highlights from the US Code:<br />- A retired officer of the Army, Navy, Air Force, or Marine Corps may bear the title and wear the uniform of his retired grade.<br />- A person who is discharged honorably... may wear his uniform while going from the place of discharge to his home within three months of discharge.<br />- A person not on active duty who served honorably in time of war...may bear the title ...wear the uniform of the highest grade held during that war.<br /><br />Since we have been at war for a generation now, there are multiple reasons for veterans (retired or not) to wear the uniform.
