You're an IET Soldier, you're choices are at the bottom of the priority. You will fill whatever vacancies the Army needs. But, you'll have a chance to pick a new duty station next reenlistmentResponse by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2020 3:16 AM2020-01-01T03:16:02-05:002020-01-01T03:16:02-05:00SGM Erik Marquez5401104<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div><br />"1st is what are the odds I could get Campbell back?"<br />You are needs of the Army, if HRC sees a slot at Campbell that is a need you will go there, if there is a priority need at Hood that is where you will go If after getting orders to Hood, a greater need arises in Korea, that is where you will be diverted to, and so on.<br />" And the 2nd is what is Ft. Hood like?"<br />Its like every other duty station, it is what you make of it.<br />You can buy in to the disgruntled SM stories and follow that path being as miserable as they are (of their own making) or you can make it a great duty station.<br />No its not the Hunting mecca of Alaska (if that is your thing) or the beaches of Hi (if that is your thing)<br />If your looking for drugs, prostitution, DUI opportunities, a wife that knows the ins and outs of TRICARE, power of attorney's and local divorce lawyers that is all here to be found.<br /><br />Or you can enjoy shooting sports on post and off, you can hunt, on post or off, you can go to Austin for the music (and clubs) just have a plan to get back. You can find a place to ride horses if that's your thing. You want to get involved in lost and found pet rescue, reuniting found animals to owners, just ask I do it every day. You want to ride motorcycles 330 days out of the year, yup we do that here in Central Texas as well. Need to learn to ride, get your endorsement, work though the on post and Army policy's to ride, ASK.. I have the info you need, the people to contact and a path to success. No matter if your a cruiser rider, sport bike, or touring guy. About the only riding here that is limited is off road. We have some privet tracks, and riding areas, but TX being largely privet land, there is little in public riding areas. <br /><br />Fort Hood is what you make of it, just like every other post Listen to everyone when you get here, good and bad. and trust..but verify for your self. The Young PFC that says "This place sucks" ask them why..you will get more from that then just taking them at their word.. Same for the SGT or SSG that is whining about how bad FT Hood is......I know what I would typically find in their background......and ya if I had my second GOMAR for drugs or DUI, on my 3rd wife, lacked PEM required to get promoted after I refused the first offering and it was never offered again, piss pore performance reviews as a lack luster leader ..blaming everyone but themselves for their failure or stagnation id be salty as well.Response by SGM Erik Marquez made Jan 1 at 2020 12:16 PM2020-01-01T12:16:48-05:002020-01-01T12:16:48-05:00PFC Private RallyPoint Member5401626<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>So a little bit more information on this, I’m married with kids, I’m a Military brat of over 20 years (he retired Chief Master Sgt in the AF) I was almost done with AIT When I got hurt. My wife has done more research then any new military Spouse that I know ( we spent Months researching my MOS and the different locations I could be sent to) I guess my question is. what is you favorite duty stations from your own personal experience?Response by PFC Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2020 2:22 PM2020-01-01T14:22:34-05:002020-01-01T14:22:34-05:00CPT Private RallyPoint Member5402632<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Every base is what you make of it. Unfortunately, because you were set back in graduation date branch had to fill that slot. In my opinion all posts are practically the same, the only thing that differs is the surrounding location.Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2020 7:42 PM2020-01-01T19:42:29-05:002020-01-01T19:42:29-05:00MAJ Ken Landgren5402836<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Ft Hood is huge.
