After Dallas where do we go from here?

Since Obama, Trump and Clinton don't seem to have the answers except to play the blame game or pith us against each other. Some think dialogue is the way to go from here??

Up is a good direction. We cannot get much lower than we are at this moment. I am quite sure Dr. King's dream did not involve killing of cops. We have to start by teaching children to RESPECT others.

Leaders om the streets who are stroking the flames are making racial issues worse. I don't believe prayers, love, or false promises are the answer either. I grew up in Boston after WWII & Korea when I thought a racial crisis was on the brink but somehow we got through that period ok. But not sure about today????

No matter what the presidents say it's up to each individual on how they portray and act. It doesn't matter who says what is who's fault. Each individual that creates and act of hate it is their fault. OK. Time to start calling them as I see them.......The absolute most important thing we can do is "NOT PLAY HIS GAME" of divisiveness and make no mistake that is exactly what he is trying to do and is very smart about it. Using groups and organizations to do the dirty work. BLM, you are being used as a means to an end, don't let them use you. Do your homework on moveon.org and see what they are funding....If we don't figure out how to STOP the divisiveness and violence there will be M/L before the elections, don't even want to go there! We all have to work backwards from the endgame here, which is no elections and a federalization of Police Dept's across the country (That seed was planted @ Baltimore if you remember). Scary part, that's the tip of the iceberg. Shutting up now.

What happened in Dallas may not stay in Dallas and our leaders are too afraid to incurring the wrath of the Anarchists, Lunatics, and Terrorists & look the other way. Or think it is just folks exercising their First Amendment rights.
If you are NOT part of the solution , then you are part of the problem and there are not two ways about all this lawlessness that is tearing us apart. Even here on RP with some just sitting back and taking cheap shots at those of us who are very concerned about what we saw in Dallas..

In a logical society leaders should look not at the tools of violence but the people who wield them.... Once America understands that we don't have a weapon problem and that we have people problem we can focus on fixing our nation. Statistics show from the time Clark Gable (Gone with the Wind) spoke his infamous line, the glamorizations of violence has correlated with violence in society.

It depends on where you are in your head. We need the Courage and Faith to act Nonviolently. We just celebrated the Independence Day, not an homage to our military might and resolve, but on everyone's Faith and Courage to work for a 40-hour work week, to cast a vote, eat at lunch counter, marry who you want, even carry a gun.

It seems obvious that we are incapable of tolerating differences, so let's eliminate them. Amend the Constitution to force everyone to marry and propagate only with others of different races, religions, ethnicity, etc. Homogenize America!

The political leaders and the media have had the opportunity to see just where their race-baiting has gotten us. Hopefully, wiser minds will take over and guide the nation like the parishioners at the Emanuel African Methodist Episcopal Church in Charleston, South Carolina did after the killings there.

Rioting only sows division and hatred, and our politicians and media need to stop using these incidents to further their own ideological agendas.

We will soon see if anyone in the country has learned from this terrible experience.

LOTS of talk from everyone. Here is the fact, folks. We can only change one person, and that is our self. Beyond all that we can do is to influence others, by our own attitude and behavior.

Do an analysis of yourself. Do you have attitudes prejudices etc. My guess is you do. I know I do.

Now, how do you deal with any negatives within yourself? Do you act them out, or do you try to overcome them by being respectful of others?

Change what you need to change and model loving behavior.

My heart is being torn asunder. I am the son of a Kansas City, Missouri Police Officer. I grew up praying and hoping every day that my dad would come home. He was doing a thankless job for people who did not appreciate him. However, he felt he was doing good and helping the community and keeping it safe for my sister and brother and me, could be safe. I am now a grandfather with three grandson's. I am fearful for them and their future. I love them with all my heart. However, I am afraid. I am afraid that as they continue to blossom into young men that somehow they will be perceived as a threat to a police officer with poor training and attitude and fall victim to violence. This insanity has got to stop. We cannot go around killing each other and fostering fear and hatred. Black Lives Matters came about because of the frustration and anger of African Americans falling victim to poor police training or bad police. Blue Lives Matters came about be Police Officers were being targeted for violence and yes, murder. We have to understand and stop pointing fingers and doing the blame game. I remember in the movie Crash (2004). You have a situation where a bad cop did good things and a good cop did bad things. That is the way people are. There is not a person alive who has at some point in their life done something good or bad. Do you want to be judged on the bad only? Is that who you really are? We have good people of all races, ethnicities, gender, and nationalities in this great country we call the United Stated of America. My heart bleeds for the five dead officers and the seven that were wounded. There is just no way to justify that type of action. My heart also bleeds for the death of African Americans at the hands of bad policing. Please, I beg of everyone who read this. Please, stop the hate. Don't let it win. That is truly the only thing that can destroy this country. The Taliban or ISIS won't destroy it, or any other outside entity. If this country is destroyed, it will be like the Roman Empire. Destroyed from within. However, there is hope for the only antidote that can defeat hatred is LOVE. We need to fall in love with one another. You automatically respect those you love. You don't fear those you truly love. So, let's stop the hated and start by loving one another.
