I just recently talked to a recruiter about enlisting signed over my rights did my fingerprints but I got a will happen in court if I tell them I’m joining? I already talked to my recruiter she said said don’t stress when it’s finished I could continue dui and have a court date soon what will happen in court if I tell them I’m joining? Honestly, if I were your recruiter, I wouldn't take you. If you were busted for a DUI while active duty, you would have been charged by civilian law and the UCMJ. It's nothing to take lightly.

also I need your bashing comments about my dui I know what I’ve done I know how serious it is won’t try to justify that I get enough crap about I made huge mistake I’m ready to face whatever is come if not the army I still have other certifications to continue another career

My sister was killed in an head-on collision by a drunk ,drugged, driver 22March 2016...The other female has used every legal loophole to stay out of prison...we will see come August 2018.

I'm unsure what anyone on this site can do for you because saying you want to join the service will be small coin to most judges.
MAYBE if you signed the enlistment papers and took the Oath of Enlistment with the recruitment officer - while standing in front of the judge.
THEN he might drop the charges. After you enlist. After the Judge agrees.

Okay, I'm joining this conversation late but hopefully, nothing happens. Playing the "I'm joining the military" card to try and get out of any sort of issue speaks of your personal ethics. I hope the recruiter took that contact sheet and feed it to the trash can monster. Don't just think to volunteer your time to the military will get you out of anything. If anything, it will hold you to a higher standard.

I would seriously consider what led you to getting this DUI. Chances are it was a LACK OF DISCIPLINE. Now you are talking about what you can say to a person in authority to GET A FREE PASS. Do you belong in the military with this philosophy? Chances are NO.

Get a lawyer and he might get it dropped or reduced. Plan on paying at least $1500.00. Never face a judge without a lawyer for any offense.

UPDATE: No longer charged with a dui no more advice or smart ass comments needed thank you all some of you were really helpful and gave me some tough love I needed for being irresponsible and some were jackasses I’m ready to move on with this whole thing so I can continue my medication because this was a horrible thing to go through thank you all again

If it’s a first time offense they may give you a withheld judgement but it depends on what the judge says it’s his call.
