You will have PCS orders that authorize TDY en route if you are PCSing immediately following.<div><br></div><div>For example, my orders were for PCS to reclassify to 97E, a four month school at Huachuca.</div><div><br></div><div>The orders are PCS orders but they authorize TDY en route. In this case they were PCS orders to the Defense Language Institute with TDY en route (as opposed to return) to Fort Huachuca for the MOS portion of the training.</div> Response by CW2 Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2014 4:49 PM 2014-01-01T16:49:01-05:00 2014-01-01T16:49:01-05:00 SGT Private RallyPoint Member 30784 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>my orders state "soldier will proceed to pcs to fort Gordon, 73 ord tr BN. to conduct mos training during the following dates. 21 feb report, <div>24 feb class start, 19 june graduation date.  dependents authorized for trave" them it goes into travel and housing information. Nothing about a follow on assignment or a rereturn to prevoius duty station. honestly I don't care if it's a pcs or not I am just trying to avoid moving the family there,  then again in 5 months</div> Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Jan 1 at 2014 5:44 PM 2014-01-01T17:44:42-05:00 2014-01-01T17:44:42-05:00 1SG Private RallyPoint Member 32515 <div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>Its a money thing, PCS is usually cheaper for the unit to send you and return. Some soldiers re-classing do bring family and get on post housing. If you press the issue and call the National Guard liaison on FT. Gordon hopefully the SGM will get you a letter also stating that TDY is now authorized. Worked for me.
