I went National Guard until I was physically fit again (1970s). I simply told my commander. Maybe its different now but I was fine. You will need a DA 368 signed by your first General Officer. So no an active wouldn't just over rule a reserve contract. I would suggest if you want to stay active don't go reserve unless you have been accepted into the AGR program. Stay active if that is what you truly want to do. Because going back especially at a higher rank is a big pain in the azz. I been dealing with it all year since leaving Active duty again last December.Response by SFC(P) Private RallyPoint Member made Oct 18 at 2018 7:24 AM2018-10-18T07:24:50-04:002018-10-18T07:24:50-04:002018-10-17T19:42:26-04:00
