They have been stealing government and trade secrets for a long time. It seems they are always grooming students and businessmen to be their informants.
Like every OPSEC briefing I give, "90% of foreign intelligence is derived from unclassified sources."

I have been hearing quite a lot on NPR lately about the Chinese Cyberwarfare Unit. Fascinating. I guess the 2nd Oldest Profession is still going strong just now all out in the Digital World. I wouldn't probably be able to keep up anymore but almost makes me home sick to go back into the field.

Spies don't need to work with double agents anymore. Just look up service members on Facebook or anywhere else and you can find out all the information you need. Tom Clancy was investigated years ago because he put enough unclassified information together and came to a classified conclusion.

Nothing new really. I remember getting the SAEDA/OPSEC brief back in 2000 at the outset of my first tour in Korea.
