Additionally as a prior service the rules are different hence USAREC Buisiness Rules are in effect! What are Buisiness rules? The guides tha address how prior service prospects are handled back into active duty. It varies by rank and MOS; meaning you can come back (or not) and possible reclass! The reason is because they have quotas to fill and they know what to look for like, your re-code and such. Why would you want to back door a recruiter anyway? If the prior service slots are full check with a different branch. They are there for a reason "to help you" get the most out of your enlistment. Depending on the branch it is going to be more difficult in some branches than others. I know we process prior service, but as mentioned business rules apply. Age, length of time in, RA code on their DD 214, make sure they understand options are much more limited for prior service coming in. It is possible though as long as they bring in everything with them, but it will still be a process. As stated, many prior service personnel find it a pain to come back in because from my experience in USAREc, they feel they know the system now and are owed something. If they held a critically short MOS while they were in, the Army most likely will not allow them to reclass. <br /><br />This definitely can makes things challenging if someone was looking for a bonus or a new job.Response by SFC Private RallyPoint Member made Apr 25 at 2016 3:26 PM2016-04-25T15:26:56-04:002016-04-25T15:26:56-04:00MSG Brad Sand1479241<div class="images-v2-count-0"></div>No...unless you have some VERY powerful connections.
