Former MLB player Lance Berkman (Houston Astros) has appeared in a spot for a PAC that is against this proposition for fear pedophiles will be let loose in the restrooms of our women and girls(paraphrased), what say you?

The news story was actually of more interest to me.

An "agent of the government" (Mayor) was using intimidation tactics to quiet Free Speech.

It doesn't matter whether you agree or disagree with the message. There's a reason Free Speech is Protected.

Now, personally the entire "segregated hygiene facilities" argument is getting really old, especially as women's restrooms have stalls. Strikes of fear-mongering, but the Free Speech implications are very much worth exploring.

Now, regarding restrooms. As a simple matter of "pragmatism" is makes sense to divide by gender/sex. If only because you can fit more male facilities in the same space as female facilities. Males are able to accomplish more "throughput" (for lack of a better term) when it comes to expelling waste materials, because of the use of urinals vs. stalls.

However, are male/female segregation of facilities truly necessary?

It takes more than a dress and a wig to be transgendered. We have separate rooms for a reason.

Regardless of whether we agree with him or think he's speaking in hyperbole, he's entitled to his point of view. He is a public figure and a role model for youth, so saying "pedophiles would be let loose" might have been a little bit excessive, and he could have voiced his opposition in a more diplomatic way.

So, if that is the case then why couldn't a woman go into the men's restroom and men into the women's? When will this nonsense stop? How about we create a third bathroom for those unsure?

For those who espouse three restrooms, would they be labeled "Men," "Women," and "Unsure?"
Why do "transgenders" only seem to consider their own desires and not respect the discomfort they impose on others? How many young women want to share a restroom or shower with a biological male, no matter how he identifies himself?
