Odom without a doubt. But it's also helped by the "royal" Kardashian family running to his bedside. I mean you "gotta" keep up with the Kardashians. It's not right, but the silver lining is, that Marine means something to US, and years from now, he'll STILL be talked about in reverence. What would history remember Odom for?

No one needs to tell an active military member, or a veteran who the real hero is. We also know, the main stream news media will make a hero out of a sports jock---- who took drugs in a whore house to keep a boner.

Sgt Tom Cunnally Just the way it is brother, just the way it is.
What Carpenter did is set the example for what it means to serve in a brotherhood. He willingly gave his life to save his brothers, and was granted an extension, just as he knew that his brothers would do the same to save his. He is absolutely a HERO.
Odom is simply a sorry excuse of a washed up role model. I hope he recovers and unscrews his life, but he is sorry.

Great point. Very sleazy how our media operates. Even sleazier is the fact that a certain former POTUS wanna-be's kid has become engaged to a unnamed MOH recipient most likely to keep the family name in the press. But again, no names are specified by this lawsuit saavy member. Our media requires an morality enema.

Hi, Sergeant Cunnally.

What Lance Corporal Carpenter did, to potentially trade his life for the life of his brother in arms, was heroic on an epic level. We are members of the world’s greatest military, and I can cite dozens of warriors by name that would instantly do the same thing. Regrettably, after fourteen years of a war that will never end, that courage has become tragically commonplace. The public expects us to do it.

Odom, on the other hand, spent $75k on a three-day tryst in a brothel. That just doesn’t happen every day. It’s newsworthy only in its ridiculous, over-the-top manner.

For honor’s sake, I would put any of my team up against Odom any day of the week.

I think LCpl Carpenter has gotten way more exposure over the years than Lamar Odom's recent issues. The sad thing is the only people actually covering Mr. Odom are entertainment news because of his relationship with a reality TV family.
