"A Changing Footprint" Do you think the article in the Army Times will affect Army Aviation or just small groups in different services?

So, I was reading the Army times about the changing footprint in Europe and though it doesn't really give specifics. Do you think this will open up new opportunities for the Aviation Community or just select services and MOS's? I have 13 months left in Korea and would be nice for Greece, Spain, or Italy to open up. I know my wife would love it. If you have the opportunity which area would you try to get?

well to answer the second part of your post I would look for some duty assignment in central Europe and then travel from a central location. As for the first part I don't think it will affect Army Aviation to start with but once the "footprint" settles out it quite possibly increase

I have not see the article in question, however I can tell you that the aviation footprint in Europe is an extremely fluid concept right now. We were supposed to be told back in February what was happening with our bases and our CAB, but when I pcsed last week we still didn't know, and of course that only fuelded the rumor mill.
