But since it was a homosexual couple, it makes the press. Why do enforce acting professional and go after the couple who was out of control.Response by LTC Private RallyPoint Member made Nov 14 at 2014 2:14 AM2014-11-14T02:14:54-05:002014-11-14T02:14:54-05:00SGT Private RallyPoint Member393799

I think there were better ways he could have handled it without physically assaulting the one with the camera.

He could have confronted the one with the camera, had him delete the video and then confronted the two females and informed them that they are still in uniform.

No PDA in uniform regardless of gender, sexual orientation, etc. The only exception is when a servicemember is returning from a deployment in uniform (this exception has been documented formally by the military through ALARACT).

Does he deserve to be discharged? Not in my opinion. Letter of reprimand would have been sufficient.Response by SGT Private RallyPoint Member made Dec 31 at 2014 7:45 AM2014-12-31T07:45:48-05:002014-12-31T07:45:48-05:00A1C Gregory Beckham453543

There are puppet strings being pulled on anyone this topic. The media is doing the best it can to rile us all up.

Since my jimmes are rustled, here's my take:

Assault is assault, as long as charges are pressed.

Military bearing has to be up-held, however, just to stir the wasp nest (us), The inappropriate couple go to the lengths of filing charges against, what I would assume is, a senior officer.
And for what? Because they can. Because they would have been repremanded otherwise. So, instead of their LOC or LOR, this upstanding member is facing discharge, they are coddled because "Hooray for gays" in our society, AND, they are not punished for their actions.

He probably didn't even bruise anyone, probably just nudged a guy and BAM! I believe this is indicative to the way the Army's Investigative processes work.

I heard this previously, and there is more to this, than snippet the media showed. I believe the Senior Officer said the conduct was not appropriate in public, regardless of sex; not just because it was two women. This of course, appears to have degenerated to EO related issues and discrimination.

Having been investigated by EO, the DAIG and the DOD IG, I can tell you for certain, these agencies get their Jollies by taking down, or trying to take down Senior Leaders/Officers. They also immediately assume the accused is guilty based on any allegation. Then, the position we are in, is guilty until we prove we are innocent.Response by COL Charles Williams made Mar 12 at 2015 7:47 AM2015-03-12T07:47:14-04:002015-03-12T07:47:14-04:00SGT Joy Turpin526203

Obviously, he did the right thing. It should not matter that the Service Members involved where of the same sex. If that had been a heterosexual couple, the same thing should have happened.
