I got out of the army almost 20 years ago. In that time I moved from job to job at the rate of about every two years, sometimes less (sometimes a lot less). Once I found a job at a consulting company though, I finally felt at home. Here are the reason why I think this is so, and it is all due to prior service.<div><br></div><div>1. There is a defined rank structure (analyst, senior analyst, consultant, etc.)</div><div>2. We deploy a lot. Nearly all of my projects (engagements) require me to travel (deploy) to a client location with a team (my platoon).</div><div>3. Constantly changing situations; Our military service has ingrained the ability adapt to change.</div><div>4. Leadership. All projects need good leaders, even from those that aren't the official project leader.</div><div>5. Diverse personalities. </div><div>6. Work hard, play hard. Nuff' said :)</div><div><br></div><div>I have a number of co-workers that are veterans that feel the same as I do, this job is as close to Military life as you can get that doesn't involve getting shot at :).</div>
