I was invited to take part in the 150th anniversary of the Battle of Gettysburg last year and it was one of the most enjoyable experiences of my life! Not only did my history itch get scratched but I got to see Napoleonic Warfare first hand. It was AWESOME! Anyone else do reenactments? Post a pic and tell a story if you have!

I would. Huge fan of civil war history, would love to get my mind set closer to what they were actually doing. For anyone interested, best book on this:

For what it's worth - I called into NPR yesterday to talk to Tony Horowitz, author of "Confederated in the Attic" just to tell him how much I enjoyed that book.

Yes, but not in the conventional sense. A bunch of my dancer friends and I participated in a WW2 style Hanger Dance in San Marcos, TX sponsored by the Confederate Air Force a while back. They had a bunch of old warbirds (to include a B-17G) and a big band that did the WW2 Glenn Miller thing (dressed in USAAF uniforms). We came dressed in vintage WW2 Army uniforms, while some of the girls came in vintage dresses and hair-do's. We danced with a lot of the old WW2 vets who came to see the show. We even did a mock brawl with other dancers who came dressed in zoot suits.

You look good in those pics Sir. That older uniform suits you! That looks like it was a lot of fun!

Well, this was also almost 14 years ago when I really WAS a LT....;o) The ribbons, branch and badges would have been correct for the period, unit and character that I was portraying (442nd INF). The only thing I probably could have added was an infantry cord, but not sure if they were wearing those in mid WW2.

I'm from Pennsylvania and can you believe I didn't see one until I went to AZ? I think it would be cool. Some of these people get waaaaaaaaaaaaay to into it!
